Agriculture and health

One of the objectives of the regulation of the economy in the OM system is to make it, as far as possible, useful or at least harmless to human health. Agriculture, and in particular the production and sale of food products, is the most important part of the economy in this respect.

We cannot avoid or replace the need for food in any way. More basic are perhaps the needs for water, air, sunlight, but we do not need to produce them yet.

The goal of the OM system, or you could say that I would like to achieve with your help, is a healthier society, which should be through better nutrition. To do this, food should be as varied and naturally grown as possible. But at the same time, for the most part, local, that is, grow where it is eaten. It is also desirable that it be natural in the sense that human influence on the development of an animal or plant is minimal, that is, their cultivation is close to natural.

The creation of genetically modified products, injection of drugs, as well as the use of poisons and other chemical influences are beneficial for the economy, but can be detrimental to nature and human health. The question here is not a complete rejection of their use, but the creation of such conditions that their use is as minimal as possible and does not reflect in any waya human health, nor on the health of all other natural organisms.

Today, in a modern economy, such limits of these conditions can be easily violated in favor of profit. Especially in underdeveloped countries from a scientific and legal point of view. They will either not be able to properly study and prove the harmfulness of any impact, or by proving it, for selfish reasons, they cannot enforce this or that prohibition. But what’s worse is when the research itself is produced by an interested party that passes off the fitted data as objectively true.

Competition forces one to resort to such and other various methods of influencing general opinion and laws, and so on. to reduce costs and increase profits. What is reflected in the health of a particular person, but also in the life of his subsequent generations.

Another question of trust

Here, as in my other articles, I do not go into details, since all health issues need to be understood on the merits. The question is how much in today’s profit-driven economy can we trust the manufacturers of goods, medicines and everything else that affects our health. We don’t know how unbiased research and legislation is. The non-obviousness of the consequences of diseases and the obviousness of a specific benefit for all market participants from the opportunity to save money or produce something additionally may in fact be useless or even harmful, but nevertheless lead to earnings to the detriment of health.

In this regard, I have many questions about the measures to combat various kinds of epidemics, how justified and effective this struggle is. Isn’t this fight for more commercial goals than real public health goals.

The same can happen in agriculture, as a result of which we will receive products of insufficient quality compared, for example, with home-produced products. by which I mean more natural conditions for growth, feeding and general care. But you say: “Well, who’s stopping you from buying homemade. Nobody”. But the final cost of such products can be reduced, not so much through competition, but through the organization of sales, as well as all transactions leading to the provision of sufficiently large households.

Production of goods in OM

In the context of OM, the main processes for the production of goods, thanks to the open movement of funds, will be in sight. The corresponding costs for raw materials, for equipment, for the salaries of specialists will be visible. That is, the composition of certain products and what was used to produce them will be clear.

The production of products itself should be as close as possible to the place of sale, due to the fact that both packaging and transportation inevitably consume hydrocarbons. Only those products should be brought in that, objectively, for climatic and other reasons, cannot be grown or created at the place of sale and direct consumption.

Today, according to some estimates, for one calorie of the most consumed product, there are up to 3 calories of carbohydrates included in delivery, storage and packaging. Of course, sooner or later this will have to be abandoned for objective reasons, but the ongoing littering from all this packaging due to large-scale overproduction is already a fairly obvious problem that should be addressed as soon as possible.

It should be added that, in general, food grown in the same area where a person lives is considered more useful for him. Rich in trace elements needed in a given habitat, which are part of the products. This is all that concerns direct benefits, but there are also indirect benefits from local farming, or rather, motivation in order to avoid harm. Yes, eating grown products where we live, we will pay more attention to keeping that place itself clean.
